Click Here to Explore my Pedigree Chart My Family Tree-A  Brief history of it's Evolution 1881 Census of Great and Little Clifton He's His Own Grandpa - a 1940's Song

A pedigree chart shows just the ancestors of the start person in a simplified tree. The button below opens one showing my ancestors.

Where I have, birth, marriage and death information it is shown in the chart.  Where no numbers are shown I have no more information yet on that family line.

The chart is spread over 12 inter-connected pages. Clicking on the numbers by the name on the page takes you to the next generations in the particular family line.

As of February 2016 my tree contains over 1270 people and goes back to around 1650 in Devon and 1750 in Southern Scotland.

Of my eight great grandparents seven were born within 15 miles of Cockermouth and the eighth one, Nicholas Launder, was born in Beer Ferris, near Plymouth, in Devon.

When I first started researching my family tree I came across a complete transcription of the 1881 census of Clifton near Workington. Since then the original site has been removed and as I had a copy of the complete Clifton text I have included it in this site to keep it available on the web.

I remembered this song by Phil Harisfrom way back
