Family Fairground Connections

I am related to the Taylor travelling showmen via various members of my fathers family. The main links were -

My Uncle Stanley Douglas married Rose Hilda (Dolly) Taylor.

My Half Aunt Annie Jane married  William George (Billy) Taylor

My Half first cousin once removed, Mary Elizabeth Hodgson, married Matthew Owen (Mattie) Taylor.

She was known as Lizzie Burridge and was always Aunt Lizzie to me.

Dolly, Billy and Mattie were the children of Matthew and Kate Taylor.

As a result my visits to the fair were always inexpensive and I occasionally made a profit.

When I was older (12+) I joined the fair during school holidays which were a mixture of fun and, in some cases hard, work.
